022. Japan Genmaicha

A very popular green tea blend in Japan, made by mixing roasted whole grain rice with fresh Sencha. This was originally done by lower class Japanese in order to stretch what tea they had. Today, the tradition continues as Genmaicha is the clear preference of many. Milder, and less strong in the cup than pure Sencha, it has the pleasant aroma and taste of toasted rice.
